  About Us

Hans Feustel started building engines in 1972 with his cousin, Pro Stock racer Richie Zul, in New York. Working mainly with Chevy Big Blocks, Hans' first national recognition was in a June 1976 article in Hot Rod magazine. In 1977 Richie Zul became the driver for Reher-Morrison Pro-Stock, so Hans moved to Texas to be the crew chief. When Richie moved back to New York In 1978, Hans stayed.

After 2 years as the Reher-Morrison crew chief, Hans went to Detroit to be the Crew Chief and engine builder for Richard Maskins, now the owner of Dart Machinery, and Andy Mannarino of Maskins-Mannarino Racing a.k.a. The M & M Boys. Hans built the engines for their AMC Hornet, Pontiac Firebird and the top competitive small block Oldsmobile.

In 1983, after 4 successful years with the M & M Boys, Hans went back to Texas to resume his spot as crew chief for Reher-Morrison and driver Lee Shepherd. Hans spent the next decade with Reher-Morrison as crew chief and engine builder.

After 19 years of watching drivers win with engines he  built, Hans decided to try racing for himself. Hans teamed up with Robert Hutchinson to drive the Hutch-Feustel C/ED race car. In Hans' first, and only, full year of racing he won 3 divisional points races, 1 national event, finished 2nd in division and 2nd in the world for the 1991 season.

Having cured the bug to race, Hans decided to get focused strictly on building engines at Reher-Morrison. By 1992, Hans was starting to get another bug.  Hans wanted to put his name on the engines he built. This was what Hans had wanted to do since he first worked on an engine over 20 years before. So, in 1993, he decided to go out on his own and start Hans Feustel Racing Engines in Fort Worth, Texas.

Starting with little more than a great reputation, Hans started to build his engines and after 3 years one of his engines was on the cover of the first magazine he ever appeared in,  Hot Rod Magazine.  In April of 1996, the engine he built for the Pro Street Mighty Mouse car landed on the cover. That cover propelled Hans to the next level with exposure that brought a high demand for his motors.

Hans has spent the last 12 years making Hans Feustel Racing Engines a highly  respected name on the racing circuit by putting a little bit of himself into every engine he builds. Hans personally works on and inspects every motor that goes out with his name on it. This dedication to excellence is demonstrated by the loyalty of his customers and the success they have on the track. This same dedication to excellence, performance, speed and customer satisfaction is what keeps Hans Feustel Racing Engines providing the SPEED THAT BLURS YOUR VISION.
